Privacy policy

Last updated: June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the RetinaFace website handles information when you visit retinaface.com. We have deliberately built RetinaFace to respect your privacy, and the same principle applies to this site: we collect as little as possible and never sell what we do collect.

Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and there is no contact form on this site. The information involved is limited to:

  • Basic analytics — anonymised data such as the pages you visit, your approximate region and the type of device you use, which helps us understand what is useful and what to improve.
  • Server logs — standard technical records, including IP address and browser type, generated automatically when any website is accessed.
  • Email you send us — if you contact us at info@retinaface.com, we keep your message so we can reply and follow up.

How the software handles your data

The RetinaFace application itself runs on your own machine. Once you have downloaded it, the detector processes your images and video locally and does not send them to us or anyone else. Your photos stay on your device.

How we use information

The limited information we collect is used only to operate and improve the website, respond to your messages, keep the service secure, and understand which guides and pages are most helpful. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.

Cookies

This site may use a small number of cookies to remember preferences and to power anonymous analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will continue to work, though some preferences may not be remembered.

Third-party services

We may rely on reputable third parties for hosting, content delivery and analytics. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their service and are expected to maintain their own privacy safeguards. External links from our pages are governed by the privacy policies of those destinations, not this one.

Data retention and security

We keep information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, then remove it. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data against loss or unauthorised access, while recognising that no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Your choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. To make any such request, email info@retinaface.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
